This Low Carb Keto Chocolate mouse is such a decadent dessert made with just 3 ingredients. It doesn’t get much easier than this.

It’s rich, it’s creamy and it’s really rather satisfying when it’s not made with a ton of regular sugar that spikes your insulin and sends your cravings into overdrive.

HOW MANY NET CARBS PER SERVING in our Low Carb Keto Chocolate Mousse

3 Net Carbs per serving.

Note that the erythritol is what creates the majority of carbs in this recipe in the data below. If you count regular carbs, this may not be the recipe for you. If you count net carbs, just know that half this recipe 6 Net Carbs for a very generous serving.

Our family subtracts sugar alcohols and for that reason we provide the sugar alcohol grams above the nutrition card and you can decide for yourself if you want to follow that.

PLEASE do not shame or be mean to others who might do things a little differently. That is not what we are about here.

Dairy and Dairy-Free Options for our Low Carb Keto Chocolate Mousse

  • Heavy Whipping Cream – You could easily make this with regular heavy whipping cream. I recommend beating it into a stiff whipped cream though first just like you see in the video. Whipping cream is the easiest to find where we live right now so that is what I’ve been using lately.
  • Dairy-Free Option with Coconut Fat -ÂYou want to take two cans of coconut milk and let them sit in the fridge. You then will dispose the liquid coconut milk (use it for something like our spice pumpkin latte) and take the solid coconut fat for your whipped mousse.

Note on the Coconut Fat for our Mousse

  • Each can of coconut will yield a slightly different amount of coconut fat, so you will have a slightly different final yield every time you make this recipe.
  • For the purpose of giving you nutrition data, I will estimate about 1 1/2 cups of coconut fat.
  • If you have more, go ahead and use it.
  • If you have less, don’t worry about it. Just proceed with the recipe as is. That being said, if the difference is significant, you may want to slightly adjust the recipe. But small differences won’t hurt anything.

On the nutrition info you have 12 net carbs listed. Is that for the whole recipe? The reason I ask is because at the top of the nutrition info it says the info you have listed is for one serving. If that’s true then net carbs would be 12 for one serving & that’s a lot for a keto recipe?

We list the sugar alcohols above the nutrition facts for any recipe that has sugar alcohols (See above nutrition facts card). We are still working on getting the sugar alcohols listed IN the nutrition facts but it’s not happened yet with the developer.

We list how many servings this recipe makes above the top in the recipe card. This recipe makes 4 servings.

A serving is what a person would/should most likely consume in one sitting. .. This recipe makes a TON of mousse and a serving of 4 is pretty generous in my opinion..

SO the nutrition info is for 1 of those servings and the nutrition info is for 1/4th of the recipe since it serves into 4 portions.

I feel like this is confusing to explain but not sure how to better explain it.

Additionally there are 9 grams of of sugar alcohol per serving when splitting this recipe into 4.. Which would make it 3 Net Carbs per 1/4th of the recipe. We list the sugar alcohols for people who may need to calculate differently as some people have slight blood sugar spikes even with sugar alcohols.

So yes it is 12 Net carbs for the entire recipe but the entire recipe is A TON of dessert and 100% should not be consumed in one day.. Hope this help!
