There's easy recipes. Then there's EASY recipes. You are going to love this two-ingredient recipe for Cinnamon Roll Apple Bake. Yes, you heard me correctly, TWO INGREDIENTS. Well, technically three if you count the icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls. You know, that sweet and gooey swirl of sugary heaven that comes on your favorite cinnamon treats.

This Cinnamon Roll Apple Bake is one of the easiest desserts you will ever make. Ever! And it is so warm and yummy.

Use your favorite brand of cinnamon rolls. My favorite? The big giant-jumbo ones. They are soft and flaky, full of cinnamon flavor.

Cut them up and stir in a can of apple pie filling.

Bake for about 30 minutes, maybe a little longer depending on your oven. You don't want to over-cook this dessert recipe. Just make sure the cinnamon roll dough is cooked and golden.

The apples will be bubbly and golden.

Can thi be made in Bundt pan??

      • Teri

I have never made it in a Bundt pan, but I would guess you might have to increase the cooking time to ensure the center gets cooked. Let me know if you try it, I'd love to know how it turns out.

I made this for after dinner dessert. Everyone loved it, asked for recipe. This is super quick to prepare and makes a large pan. I've made this several times and every time everyone loved it. I also stirred in some chopped walnuts which made it have a little crunch. VERY GOOD!

Thank you so much for sharing! Love the idea of adding walnuts, I'll do that next time for sure. 🙂

We made this this morning followed all directions and the dough never got done. What am I doing wrong? Do you all everything from the Apple Pie Filling? May we should of used just apple slices. The Cinnamon Roll dough was slimy and totally uncooked

      • Teri

EEEK! I am so sorry you didn't get great results. Not sure that you are doing anything wrong, but maybe a difference between pan size or the way our oven cooks versus yours. I would do this in an 8 x 11 (ish) pan to give room for everything to spread out and cook more evenly. I do have a newer model oven, which cooks a little faster than my older one I recently replaced. If you decide to try it again, feel free to either increase your oven temp by a few degrees or increase the cook time.

Do you have to use the Jumbo? I bought two regular sized packages of cinnamon rolls.

That should work just fine. I've not made it with 2 smaller packs, so the ratio of apples to cinnamon roll might be a bit off, but it will still taste delicious.

To doughy it doesnt cook all the pieces if you mix the apple filling with them

Hmmmm...wonder if the size of the baking dish might have it too "thick" in areas? Or possibly my oven bakes hotter? I'm sorry you didn't get perfect results.

Baked this tonight! Used Pam to coat a small square glass dish, put the cinnamon rolls in the bottom of dish whole(uncut) and poured the apple filling on top. Baked 350 for 40 mins, put the icing on top and it was delicious.

      • Teri

I definitely will try it this way. 🙂

    What size pan is recommended?

I used an oval baking dish equivalent to an 8 x 12 (ish) size. You can also make this in a square 8 x 8 or 9 x 9, but may need to increase cooking time to cook all the way through depending on the thickness and how quick your oven bakes. There is a huge difference in how my old 20-year old oven bakes vs my newer oven. To make sure it is cooked through, the old 'clean toothpick' in center works. I would go undercooked (and let it finish baking in the pan as it cools) vs overcooked.

I have the regular sized cinnamon rolls in the eight count can. Should I use a 9 X 13 inch pan? And how long should I bake them?

    • Teri

In a 9 x 13 they may turn out a little dry...you can either reduce the cooking time by 10 minutes (then check them)...or, better yet, put them in an 8x8 or 9x9 pan and stick with the regular cooking time, just keep an eye on them toward the end.
